Once Mobenzi Lockdown has been purchased as an add-on by your Account Owner, console users with the correct permissions can manage whether handsets should have Lockdown activated or not. This is managed per individual handset level, and can be updated at any stage. Bulk actions (i.e. activating/deactivating Lockdown for multiple handsets simultaneously) are also possible.
How do I activate Lockdown for a handset?
To activate Lockdown for a handset:
- Find the handset you want to activate Lockdown for on the Handsets tab, and click on the handset's identifier.
- In the drop-down, select 'Activate Lockdown'.
- Confirm that you wish to activate Lockdown for this handset.
Alternatively, Lockdown can also be activated by viewing the handset, and selecting 'Activate Lockdown' in the right-hand side panel.
A lock icon will be displayed to indicate that Lockdown has been activated for the handset.
The first time Lockdown is activated for a handset, the fieldworker will need to complete a brief setup process and accept the Lockdown request.
NOTE: once you activate Lockdown for a handset, the fieldworker will be required to complete the Lockdown setup process in order to continue using the Mobenzi mobile app for fieldwork.
When Lockdown is active on a handset, a lock icon will display in the notifications bar. The Mobenzi Gateway application will launch automatically when the handset is powered on, and will display when the fieldworker presses the handset's Home button.
How do I deactivate Lockdown for a handset?
To deactivate Lockdown for a handset via the console:
- Find the handset you want to deactivate Lockdown for on the Handsets tab and click on the handset's identifier
- In the drop-down, select 'Deactivate Lockdown'.
- Confirm that you wish to deactivate Lockdown for this handset.
Lockdown can also be deactivated by viewing the handset, and selecting 'Deactivate Lockdown' in the right-hand side panel.
The lock icon will disappear to indicate that Lockdown is no longer active on the handset.
The fieldworker will simply need to check for updates. Assuming they have network connectivity, the lock icon will disappear from the notifications bar. The fieldworker will again be able to access apps and settings other than the Mobenzi Gateway app.
