The handset setup wizard simplifies the process of adding a handset to a workspace, linking it to a data collector and automatically assigning specified forms to the new data collector (optional).

To add a new handset to your workspace, go to the 'Handsets tab', select 'Add a new handset' at the top of the page and follow the steps to download and link the app.

  1. Download the mobile app by entering www.mobenzi.com/download in to the handset's web browser. Video instructions are available here.

  2. Add the unique workspace code to link the handset to your workspace

  3. Add data collector details to register the data collector

  4. Setup complete

Each workspace receives its own unique setup code - a unique 6-character code that can be manually entered (or scanned) by the data collector whilst installing the Mobenzi mobile app. The workspace code is displayed along with step-by-step instructions on the 'Add handsetpage. This unique workspace code will be requested if the handset has not yet been linked to a workspace on your account.

By default no forms are automatically assigned to a new data collector during setup. You can change this however:

  1. From the Dashboard tab select 'Manage workspace'.
  2. Select all the forms that should be assigned to a data collector by default if they link to the project using the setup code.
  3. If you have Lockdown activated for your account, you can also select whether it should be enabled by default.
  4. Click 'Save Changes'. Any data collectors who use the workspace code will now receive these defaults. Note: any handsets previously linked using the setup code will remain unaffected.

Note: Keep the setup code private among your team. You should only share the workspace setup code with data collectors who need to link their handsets to your workspace. If your code is compromised (e.g. is accidentally shared with a third-party that should not be able to link a handset to your workspace), you can generate a new code. You can also print the setup code for offline sharing with your team (e.g. printing training guides).

Generates a new setup code. Note: the previous setup code will become invalid and will no longer work if used.
Generating a new setup code will not affect any handsets previously linked using the old setup code.
Prints the setup code. Use this to distribute the setup code to data collectors during training.
